For this installation, the standard four-bin aggregate blending unit was positioned perpendicular to the charging conveyor, allowing the entire plant to fit efficiently within the available property while maintaining the same production capacity and operating efficiency as a linear layout. This design flexibility enables the Advantage 250™ to be tailored to a wide variety of property constraints without compromising performance.
The rolling terrain of North Carolina’s Piedmont region provided another opportunity to maximize the site’s natural features. Built into a hillside, the aggregate blending unit sits alongside a retaining wall, while aggregate stockpiles are located on a paved upper drive directly above the plant. Front-end loaders can simply drive into the elevated stockpile area and load the four galvanized aggregate bins from grade, eliminating the need for a dedicated loading ramp.
By adapting the plant layout to both the property’s geometry and the natural topography, CMQ Engineering delivered a highly efficient installation that makes excellent use of the available space while simplifying daily plant operations.
