Advantage 250™ Concrete Batch Plant Installation Near Floresville, Texas

An Advantage 250™ batch plant at a ready mix concrete facility near Floresville, Texas.

Precision Concrete Production in the Heart of South Central Texas

Just outside the town of Floresville, Texas, amid the gently rolling landscape of Wilson County, where State Highway 97 threads its way through South Central Texas, a new Advantage 250™ Concrete Batch Plant is helping meet the growing demand for ready-mixed concrete across the region.

Located roughly halfway between Connally Memorial Medical Center to the northwest and the Shot Therapy Skeet Range to the south, the installation sits in a region where agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and residential growth all converge. Once known primarily as ranching country, Wilson County has become an increasingly important corridor connecting rural Texas with the expanding economic influence of San Antonio, just thirty miles away.

For ready-mix producers, that growth translates into opportunity—and the need for dependable, high-capacity concrete production.

To support customers throughout Floresville, Wilson County, La Vernia, Stockdale, Pleasanton, Poth, Falls City, Elmendorf, and the greater San Antonio metropolitan area, this producer selected the Advantage 250™ Concrete Batch Plant from CMQ Engineering USA.

4-Bin Inline Aggregate Blending

This installation features the standard four-bin inline aggregate blending system, one of the defining technologies behind the Advantage 250™ concrete batch plant.

With the addition of a simple ramp, aggregates can easily be loaded with a front-end loader. No further steps in the aggregate loading process are required.

Rather than weighing each aggregate individually before combining them, the Advantage 250™ continuously meters material from four independent aggregate bins onto a common weigh belt. As the materials travel together, they become uniformly blended before entering the batching process.

This approach offers several important advantages:

  • Superior aggregate blending
  • Reduced material segregation
  • Accurate proportioning of all aggregate sizes
  • Excellent batch-to-batch consistency
  • High production efficiency

Not a decumulative plant.

Many people in the ready-mix concrete business, particularly some older industry veterans, see the shape of the aggregate bins and the array of belts, and automatically assume this is a decumulative concrete plant. It is not. The system does not use a “loss-in-weight” method for weighing aggregates. Instead, precision weigh belts situated underneath each aggregate bin weigh the aggregates in real-time as they are fed to the collecting conveyor. This allows ALL aggregates to be weighed simultaneously.

Not only that, but the aggregates are precisely blended in ribboned layers in the process. Aggregate materials are fully blended in a dense, interlocking matrix, by the time they reach the charging conveyor. Aggregates are fully blended before they reach the truck. The end result is a concrete mix quality that close to a dedicated central mix plant.

For producers supplying concrete throughout Floresville, San Antonio, and surrounding South Texas communities, consistent aggregate blending contributes directly to consistent concrete performance, improved quality control, and greater customer satisfaction.

Full-Batch Aggregate Holding Hopper: Built for Speed and Precision

One of the defining features of every Advantage 250™ ready-mix concrete plant is its 10 cubic yard, full-batch weighed aggregate holding hopper. More than simply a transfer point, the hopper gives plant operators the flexibility to optimize production for changing jobsite demands and truck traffic.

When a mixer truck is already positioned beneath the plant, the holding hopper can be operated with its discharge gate fully open. As the inline aggregate blending system weighs the batch, the blended aggregate flows directly through the hopper and into the truck. Because the hopper remains between the charging conveyor and the truck, it captures any temporary surge in material flow and prevents aggregate from overflowing the receiving hopper. This allows the plant to achieve exceptionally fast truck loading while maintaining clean, controlled material handling.

The holding hopper can also be operated in a completely different mode to maximize overall plant productivity. Instead of discharging immediately, the hopper stores an entire 10 cubic yard, fully weighed batch of blended aggregate while the plant continues preparing for the next production cycle. This allows the batching process to continue even before the next mixer truck has arrived beneath the plant.

As soon as a truck is in position, the hopper’s gravity-fed discharge rapidly transfers the entire aggregate batch into the truck, dramatically reducing loading time and minimizing truck idle time beneath the plant. By staging the aggregate in advance, producers can keep trucks moving efficiently during busy production periods while maintaining accurate batch weights and consistent concrete quality.

This operational flexibility is one of the many engineering advantages that distinguish the Advantage 250 from conventional ready mix concrete plants. Whether maximizing throughput during peak production or accommodating varying truck arrival times, the full-batch holding hopper helps producers increase plant efficiency, reduce cycle times, and deliver more consistent concrete throughout every production day.

Fast Cement™ Chisel-Nose Cement and Fly Ash Silos

The chisel-nose design, coupled with air slides, provides rapid and reliable loading of cement and fly ash.

The plant also incorporates CMQ Engineering’s distinctive Chisel-Nose Silos for cement and supplementary cementitious materials.

Unlike conventional silo designs that can allow material to collect along the hopper walls, the chisel-nose configuration promotes a true first-in, first-out material flow pattern. This innovative design helps reduce buildup, minimize bridging, and improve the consistency of cement discharge throughout daily production.

The chisel-nose design, coupled with air slides and CMQ Engineering’s 1/2-rotary shutoff gates, form their Fast Cement™ system for rapid and reliable loading of cement and fly ash — with less maintenance required than typical cement silos and augers.

Benefits of CMQ’s Fast Cement™ system include:

  • Improved material flow
  • Reduced maintenance
  • Less material buildup
  • Greater batching consistency
  • Improved long-term reliability

For high-volume ready mix concrete plants, dependable material handling is every bit as important as accurate weighing. Reliable cement flow contributes to smoother production cycles and helps maintain consistent concrete quality from the first truck loaded each morning to the final delivery of the day.

Engineered for High-Production Ready-Mix Operations

Every feature of the Advantage 250™ concrete batch plant has been designed around one objective: producing high-quality concrete efficiently and consistently.

The combination of inline aggregate blending, precision weighing systems, high-capacity material handling, and engineered reliability allows producers to achieve:

  • Higher production capacity
  • Improved batching accuracy
  • Better concrete consistency
  • Reduced material waste
  • Faster batch cycles
  • Lower operating costs

These advantages make the Advantage 250™ an ideal solution for ready-mix producers serving the growing construction markets throughout South Central Texas, Wilson County, and the greater San Antonio region.
